Project Announcement: Predictive Analytics Solution for Disparate Data Systems – Phase VIII

The US Department of Defense is partnering with industry and academia on a multiphase CTMA initiative to assess and demonstrate a technology-enabled integrated decision support platform and its impact on maintenance and sustainment of current and future commercial and warfighting operations. Specifically, the initiative is intended to demonstrate:

  • When and where to pre-position equipment, spare parts, or manpower to support contingency operations and identify the risk associated with decisions on critical metrics
  • Analytics supporting modernization cost, timing, and impact on readiness
  • Benefits of deploying decisioning tools in a secure cloud environment

Phases I-VII of the initiative demonstrated the complexity and value of bringing together disparate data and processes with analytics and visualizations to improve critical business operations. The approach for Phase VIII involves high-priority tasks involving the migration of the capability to a secure cloud and the enhancement and development of critical modernization synchronization capabilities necessary to support real world decisions. Leveraging a modified Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) the team will collaborate with stakeholders to support rapid prototyping of critical functionality across 2-4-week sprint timelines. The teams will be organized to deliver specific functional capabilities (i.e., Modernization, COA, Reports, Analytics) reinforced by cross functional technology teams supporting accreditation and cloud engineering. Each sprint will be supported by User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of the initial capability to gain feedback and act as an initial training event.
