Project Announcement: Modular Open System Approach for Software Sustainment of Information Data Systems

The US Department of Defense is partnering with industry and academia on an initiative to advance the state of the art in Modular and Open System Approach (MOSA) methods and tools to sustain legacy information systems and software applications in a way that is cost effective and efficient and can be scaled across various product lines.

This initiative seeks to pilot a new MOSA using scaled agile framework (SAFe) and development, security, and operations (DevSecOps) processes and cloud-based advanced code resource environments to sustain legacy information systems.  In addition, these tools and processes will be used to validate, verify, and develop potential technologies and processes that can maximize system availability, performance, and reliability.

Specific goals will include:

  • Analysis of a specific advanced ground vehicle’s code base
  • Assessment of issues or problems arising from test sites
  • Performance of technical requirements analysis for the platform’s solicitation and source selection.
  • Development and refinement of software architecture.

If you feel your organization has the technical capabilities and would like to be considered for this project, please complete the form below and upload your organization’s technical capabilities statement.
