Project Announcement: Maturing Data Solutions to Improve Maintenance and Sustainment

The US Department of Defense is partnering with industry and academia on an initiative to develop Mature Data Systems (MDS) out of an existing, foundational product lifecycle management (PLM) system by focusing on “micro” requirements – including data quality, cleanliness, and availability – and by building upon existing architectures to operationalize the art of enhancing/preserving data integrity to the benefit commercial sustainment operations and DOD. This solution must be capable of improving the data analytics and information technology solutions associated with organizational maintenance and sustainment systems and deploying a Master Data Management (MDM) with a single, centralized “source of truth.”

The desired approach must include:

  • Identifying authoritative data requirements
  • Assessing and evaluating COTS options
  • Demonstrating and evaluating application
  • Presenting recommendations and roadmap
