Project Announcement: Elimination of Hexavalent Chromium/Cadmium for Sustainment – Phase II
The U.S. Army is partnering with industry and academia on a multi-phased initiative to evaluate Zinc Nickel (ZnNi) as a replacement for Cadmium plating with Hexavalent Chromium for fasteners. This project aims to mitigate the amount of hexavalent chromium and cadmium in the Army maintenance and sustainment environment.
