Project Announcement: Electronic Component Risk Mitigation for Vehicle Programs – Phase V

The US Department of Defense is partnering with industry and academia on a multiphase CTMA initiative to implement a design solution for components of the Bradley Family of Vehicles (BFoV). The overall goal is to develop a Bradley Processing Unit (BPU) design (a common BFoV fire control system) using technology that is obsolescence resistant while providing smart growth for anticipated functionality.

Phase V will be focused on optimizing tools and methods for producing the fire control processing (FCP) capability, improving supply chain and availability of parts at reduced cost and lead times, and demonstrating the readiness of an improved and compliant automated manufacturing capability. This phase will take an Industry Partner’s qualified BPU into System Level Software Test and United States Government (USG) vehicle integration, with industry partner support.
