Project Announcement: Confined Spaces Monitoring for Operations Safety and Efficiency

The U.S. Navy is partnering with industry and academia to evaluate Confined Space Monitoring Systems (CSMS).  There are countless Navy maintenance artisans working in areas with limited or restricted means for entry and exit.  Often, hazards are not readily apparent, creating a need to implement solutions that improve detection and mitigations in a timely and reliable manner.  This initiative will develop steps towards a CSMS for shipyard operations that will enable real-time sensing and assessment for maintenance artisans.
