Project Announcement: Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Applications for Data Analytics – Phase III

The US Department of Defense is partnering with industry and academia on a multiphase CTMA initiative to assess and demonstrate 1) the impact of an agile software solution that supports decision making through data analytics using AI/ML techniques and 2) their effect on modernization, maintenance and sustainment, and readiness of current and future operations.  Specific goals for the software are to:

• Demonstrate advanced analytics algorithms through implementation into information management tools.
• Enable real time analysis and interpretation of diverse data sources to derive actionable intelligence.
• Ensure interoperability and compatibility with existing systems and infrastructure.
• Demonstrate the effectiveness of modern AI/ML capabilities and their impact on organizational decision making.

Phase III will build on the successes of the first two phases, continuing to refine features as well as developing user guides and updating the system’s support/maintenance plan.
