Project Announcement: Advancing Additive Repair Technologies and Cold Spray for Sustainment of Maritime Assets – Phase IV

The US Department of Defense is partnering with industry and academia on a multiphase CTMA initiative to speed the development of advanced additive technologies—namely, cold spray coating deposition technology—to enable the strategic goals of timely, affordable repair and restoration of critical assets.

Phase IV of this initiative aims to continue the advancement of the adoption of Navy Expeditionary Sustainment and Repair (NESAR) technologies and the associated training for military assets vital to commercial and public business. Key objectives for this phase will expand the scope of this general effort to include:

  • Visualization
  • Command and control aids
  • Forward manufacturing (traditional/additive)
  • Expeditionary repair capabilities and support technologies
  • Agile workforce training, education and development
