Project Announcement: Advancing Additive Repair Technologies and Cold Spray for Sustainment of Maritime Assets – Phase II

The U.S. Navy is partnering with industry and academia on a multi-phased initiative to speed the development of advanced additive technologies, such as cold spray, that enable the strategic goals of timely, affordable repair and restoration of critical assets to support fleets. Additionally, technologies for fabricating components in-theater or shipboard will be investigated, as will the digital architecture to uniformly implement sustainment technologies to decrease sustainment costs and cycle times for Navy assets. The goal of Phase II is to expand the demonstration to an additional shipyard and add a portable and hatchable cold spray technology that can be used to provide in-situ repairs.
