Project Announcement: Advanced System Safety Engineering to Increase Autonomous System Dependability and Reliability – Phase II

The US Army is partnering with industry and academia on a multi-phase CTMA initiative to advance the state of the art in systems safety and model-based systems engineering tools to integrate autonomous system hardware and software that will result in an integrated autonomous system that is safe, reliable, and easy to maintain. This phase will build upon the lessons learned from the initial phase to assess the safety of robotic systems and control vehicle surrogate prototypes in a major prototype demonstration and determine improved safety analysis and assessment tools and methods to identify safety functional hazards that impact systems availability, reliability, and maintainability.
