Innovation Expo Provides Face-To-Face Knowledge Sharing Opportunities

NCMS proudly partnered with Carrier Team One to host the Innovation Expo on June 9 at the Wyndham Bayside in San Diego. As part of this year’s Annual Carrier Community Event, industries gathered to demonstrate innovative technology that would assist with fleet availability.

The objective of the event was to engage in dialogue about what the future looks like for carrier maintenance. Each of the three days, guest speakers provided perspectives from naval, civilian, and military leadership. The expo represented an important aspect of the knowledge sharing that took place.

In answer to their call, 24 companies and research institutes participated in the event. Over 200 Navy key decision-makers attended and learned more about the capabilities of the following companies:

  • AKTOptimize
  • Amazon
  • Atmospheric Plasma Solutions
  • Cisco
  • Element 119 LLC
  • ES3 Inc
  • Everactive
  • FormAlloy Technologies, Inc.
  • Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence
  • Impacto Protective Products Inc.
  • Life Cycle Engineering
  • Markforged
  • Meld Manufacturing
  • Mide Technology Corporation
  • PPG Industries, Inc.
  • Puget Sound Naval Shipyard
  • Sharp Vision Software
  • Siemens Government Technologies
  • SubUAS, LLC
  • SurClean Inc.
  • The Applied Research Laboratory / The Pennsylvania State University
  • Universal Synaptics
  • Veteran Technology, LLC

As face-to-face events are once again occurring, the opportunity to network directly provided enthusiasm and energy to the expo.

Brendan Wellenstein, with Markforged, said, “We received a lot of interest. Attendees were familiar with our technology but excited to see its capabilities in person.”

“The reactions we got from the attendees were excited, curious, and enthusiastic,” said Ben Bailey, with Amazon. “The experience was enlightening, and we made great connections.”
