Randy Langmead, Neal Orringer, and Don Steinman join eight experienced industry leaders providing guidance and direction to the growth and sustainment of NCMS. John Rand “Randy” Langmead
PLM Fellow, Siemens
Randy Langmead is a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Fellow for Siemens PLM Software’s Aerospace, Defense, Federal and Marine division. He leads a Business Development team that provides thought leadership to Siemens customers in pursuit of “The Digital Enterprise.” Randy has been with Siemens PLM Software since 1997 and has been involved with numerous PLM projects across the DoD and at commercial A&D and shipbuilding customers.
Randy received a BS in Aerospace Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1980 and an MS in Aeronautical Avionics from the Naval Postgraduate School in 1988. A former Naval Aviator, Randy served as a carrier- based helicopter pilot and held a wide variety of Organizational Level Maintenance positions. Randy retired from NAVAIR as Assistant Program Manager for Test and Evaluation at PEO(A).
Neal Orringer
Vice President, Defense Research & Development, 3D Systems
Neal Orringer is Vice President of Defense Research & Development at 3D Systems, overseeing the company’s government-sponsored additive manufacturing technology development. His teams include materials and process engineers operating at both the Pennsylvania State University Center for Innovative Materials Processing through Direct Digital Deposition and U.S. Army Research Laboratory, where he serves as a visiting researcher.
Previously, he held several senior policy positions in the U.S. government. At the DoD, he served as Director of Manufacturing, running all DoD Manufacturing Technology (ManTech), Defense Production Act (Titles I and III), and other investment programs. He later co-managed the White House Office of Manufacturing Policy as part of the Secretary of Commerce’s core policy team.
A. Donald Steinman, III
Executive Vice President – General Manager, Product Knowledge
Don Steinman joined Product Knowledge in March of 2015 as the Executive Vice President and Senior Product Expert. In July of 2015, he was selected by the board to serve as General Manager. In this role, he directs all product strategy, planning, and execution for the firm and its clients. He brings with him more than 20 years of technology product development and commercialization experience resulting in more than $2 billion in delivered product. He is widely recognized as a leader in results-oriented unconventional product strategy and delivery. Having extensive experience with both large and small firms his expertise provides value across Product Knowledge’s entire range of clients.
Throughout his professional career, he has held several senior positions in both management and technology development areas. His career spans both the defense and the commercial sectors with a principal focus on transitioning core technologies to sustainable products.
