Enhancing Aircraft Maintenance through Business Process Improvement for Maintenance & Sustainment

NCMS Project #: 141049

Problem: Similar to that of commercial companies, along with local and state governments, the U.S. Air Force has unique Human Capital Management (HCM) needs.  The key to overcome inefficiency is having a solution that can adapt and keep pace with the needs of an institution for many years to come.  The Air Force believes that, by adopting industry standards and commercial business best practices, it could achieve the same benefits as other DoD agencies using a commercial off-the-shelf (COTS)-based enterprise HCM solution.

Benefit: The key to overcome inefficiency is having a solution that can adapt and keep pace with the needs of an institution for many years to come.  This project will allow for review of a potential solution which will eliminate redundancy, improve accuracy and provide an optimization process at a significantly lower cost.

Solution/Approach: The primary purpose of this project is to enhance maintenance personnel readiness through modernized HR management practices using a cloudbased enterprise solution that facilitates adoption of commercial best practices.  This multi-phased effort will effectively demonstrate that use of Oracle Human Capital Management (HCM) can support of the Air Force talent management transformation to enhance aircraft maintenance activities.
