Automated Armory: Total Asset Visibility Evaluation and Demonstration

NCMS Project #: 140948

Problem: Armories are struggling to maintain effective management, accountability and reporting of sensitive and controlled items. The American public expects, and regulations require, for armories to be held to high standards for serialized management and accountability of the armory items and the authentication of personnel who draw on them for use in training and operations. These standards must remain high, but the processes, which support them, need to be automated to ensure armories can continue to consistently achieve them.

Benefit: A good automated inventory database can reduce the cost of unneeded overages, production delays due to assets that haven’t been maintained, or missing inventory that hasn’t been cataloged properly. All these issues can be eliminated with proper inventory management. The AIMS suite of software modules provides a next generation capability by facilitating Product Life Cycle Management across the entire life of the asset by creating a digital thread of the asset being tracked.

Solution/Approach: The Troika Asset Information Management Solution (AIMS)-Automated Armory® (AA) (AIMS-AA) solution addresses these challenges by providing organizations with a reliable, efficient, and cost-effective asset management solution. To demonstrate solution effectiveness, several Marine Corps armories will be identified and outfitted with the AIMSAA solution kit.
