The National Center for Manufacturing Sciences (NCMS) in partnership with the Department of Defense (DoD) will sponsor a technology showcase at the Tobyhanna Army Depot (TYAD).

This is an opportunity for industry to showcase their innovative technology solutions via table top display (3′ x 7′) and meet directly with DoD maintenance personnel at TYAD. The 2016 Tobyhanna Technology Showcase is open to all NCMS members ($100) and non-members ($150) as well as government individuals ($0). Additional registration information can be found below.

  • Laser Based Paint removal
  • Non-Destructive Weld Testing
  • Robotics
  • Table/Desktop molding (cables)
  • Diagnostic testing
  • Cable Manufacturing Technology
  • Coordinate Measuring Machines
  • Circuit Card Repair
  • Kevlar cutting (for cables)
  • Tool turrets for machine centers
  • Fiber Optics (testing/polishing)
  • Manufacturing tooling technologies for machining centers
  • Paint adhesion
  • Paint removal
  • Machine tooling sharpening
  • Non-loose fill cushioning (packaging void fill alternative)
  • Automate the cutting of the Nomex (available in composite or textile industry)
  • Desktop molding for cable manufacturing
  • 3D Scanning Measuring device for piece parts (machined or welded parts)
  • Welding technologies
  • Paint adhesion testing technology
  • Metal refinishing technology. Focus on the removal of paint to expose bare metal

Driving Directions

From Interstate 380 North, exit 8. Turn Right at the stop sign at the end of the ramp. Proceed to 1st traffic light (1/8 mile) and turn left at light onto Route 611 North. Proceed on 611 North to the 1st blinking red light (1/2 mile) and bear right at the light onto Hap Arnold Blvd. Proceed directly ahead to TYAD main gate (1/4 mile) and follow signs just past the overhead train trestle to the Visitor Control Center on the right.

From Interstate 380 South, exit 8. Coming off the exit ramp, go straight through the blinking yellow light at the intersection of Route 611. Proceed directly ahead to TYAD main gate (1/4 mile) and follow signs just past the overhead train trestle to the Visitor Control Center on the right.

Registration

Registration for the 2016 Tobyhanna Technology Showcase has two steps that must be completed. Both steps must be completed to gain access to TYAD for this event.

1. Attendees must download Form 648C and send a completed version to Kathryn Koch at kathryn.a.koch3.civ@mail.mil as soon as possible.

2. Attendees must also complete the event registration form found here.
