Source Sought: Government Partner Seeks Battery Technology

A federal government partner seeks to work with outside organizations to develop new technological capabilities related to inducing failure in batteries and battery-powered devices from a distance by draining, destroying/damaging or otherwise disabling the batteries.  The partner’s interest is broad and conceptual. The technology may act on any type (lithium-ion, lead-acid, nickel-cadmium, rechargeable/non-rechargeable) or size of modern battery and must achieve the desired effect without requiring direct physical contact with the battery.  The method of action does not need to be non-destructive. Successful submissions will produce an outside-the-lab proof-of-concept prototype within 18 months after receipt of funding.
