RAPDASA 2015
This year the 16th International Conference sponsored by the Rapid Product Development Association of South Africa (RAPDASA) will be held from Nov 4-6th in Pretoria South Africa. For the additive manufacturing community this is the premiere event in South Africa and boasts of strong technical presentations and very informative discussion on a wide range of topics across industries. As evidenced by the keynote speakers there will be the same dynamic environment as always at the RAPDASA conference. The major highlight of this year’s conference will be the unveiling of the Aeroswift project. This is the largest metallic powder bed system (7ft x 2ft x 1ft) in the world. The Aeroswift project is a great example of how effective a well-planned public-private partnership can work out to tackle such a complex topic. The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), along with Aerosud and the Department of Science and technology worked together to make this system a reality.
