The U.S. Army is partnering with industry and academia to ensure that the integration of maintenance and sustainment considerations is implemented into all facets of a program. The maintenance and sustainment considerations include planning, implementation, and management activities associated with the acquisition, development, production, fielding, support, and disposal of a system across its life-cycle while optimizing readiness outcomes and minimal life-cycle costs. The project will also apply a scalable set of standard processes, templates, tools, and metrics for streamlining the development of life-cycle sustainment plans per DoD LCSP 2.0 Guidance.
