Project Announcement: Accelerating Shipyard Technology Integration to Increase Naval Sustainment Capability

The US Department of Defense is partnering with industry and academia on an initiative to demonstrate an improved methodology of preparing SBIR/STTR technology solutions for integration into US shipyard processes and operations.

Specific objectives include:

  • Convene a project collaborative Project Working Group (PWG) of NAVSEA 05T/04T and NS leadership, plus select OIB participation, to prioritize the project
  • Nominate specific SBIR/STTR technology solutions for priority NSY sustainment needs to enhance cost/schedule/performance requirements
  • Develop TRL-adjudicated technology insertion plans for the project’s selected SBIR/STTR technologies
  • Assess project results to first to public DIB and government OIB benefits and recommend a path forward to complement NSS-SY work and Navy Shipyard Infrastructure Optimization Program (SIOP) opportunity.
