Member Spotlight: Concurrent Technologies Corporation

Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC) is an independent, nonprofit, applied scientific research and development (R&D) professional services organization. CTC collaborates with its technology transition affiliate, Enterprise Ventures Corporation (EVC), to seamlessly provide solutions from concept to production and beyond. Together they offer the unique ability to fully design, develop, test, prototype, and build.

CTC supports clients’ missions with customized, full life-cycle solutions. CTC’s areas of expertise fall within three broad categories—engineering and manufacturing, readiness solutions, and information technology:

  • Building on decades of engineering and manufacturing advancements, CTC delivers innovative solutions that combine deep expertise in both the fundamentals and cutting-edge technologies. Recent accomplishments include friction stir welding innovations supporting the design and manufacture of the US Army’s next generation combat vehicle hulls; the development of an ammunition manufacturing process that improves performance and reduces weight; and the application of patented technology that reverses sensitization and avoids significant costs for Navy ships.
  • For decades CTC’s professionals have been providing the nation and US warfighters with relevant analysis, creative solutions, and reliable innovations to improve readiness. The work covers water and energy resilience, safety system effectiveness, infrastructure security, and more. Currently, CTC is supporting several branches of the military with proven program management processes and technical expertise.
  • CTC has delivered thousands of customized information technology (IT) solutions to the Department of Defense (DOD) and intelligence community over the past few decades. CTC experts are leading the rapidly evolving IT industry with innovative solutions that work to improve access to and safeguard data. For example, the company’s deployed edge node systems greatly condense planning time on the front lines and its technical experts are supporting clients with advanced cybersecurity and machine learning solutions.

The synergy between CTC and EVC effectively transfers technologies to clients in government, private industry, and the public. Several advanced technology solutions that originated as R&D initiatives at CTC are now being sold and marketed to the government and private sector by EVC. Notable examples include Advanced Guard for Information Security (AGIS), which securely inspects, sanitizes, and transfers common-use files safely between networks. EVC has also commercialized and sells specialized aviation maintenance products, advanced military coatings, and more.

CTC’s facilities, which include 400,000+ square feet of office, laboratory, and high-bay space, meet DOD security requirements. The high-bay spaces are used to develop and demonstrate advanced manufacturing technologies, as well as to fabricate large-scale, first-of-a-kind prototype structures.

CTC was one of the first non-profit R&D organizations to simultaneously certify to both the ISO 9001 and 14001 international standards. Currently, CTC’s and EVC’s quality management systems are certified to the ISO 9001:2015 (Quality) and 14001:2015 (Environmental) standards, and to AS9100D:2016 (Quality-Aerospace-Related Products).
