Puget Sound Naval Shipyard Modernization

The U.S. Navy is partnering with industry and academia to create the digital model for the “As-is” repair process of a nuclear aircraft carrier (CVN) at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (PSNS), implementing the industry’s best practices. The goal is to create a digital model that could determine and validate future infrastructure expenditures at PSNS against key performance indicators. Additionally, work that is accomplished on-board the CVN would also be modeled, which represents a significant departure and new direction from previous digital model efforts that focused on work that was only conducted in the shops.
