Project Announcement: Metal 3D Printing for Improved Sustainment

The U.S. Navy is partnering with industry and academia to identify and evaluate metal 3D additive manufacturing technologies capable of creating parts on demand for low fabrication amounts or to address obsolescence issues. The results should demonstrate improved uptime for fleets, increased throughput of ship maintenance and repair, increased productivity of the workforce, and decreased manufacturing costs.
