Project Announcement: Improving Reliability and Safety of Vehicle Climate Control Systems

The U.S. Army is partnering with industry and academia on an initiative to to leverage commercial modeling and simulation technologies and design processes to improve the reliability, maintainability and safety of vehicle fuel-fired heating systems. A pilot demonstration for a U.S. Army combat vehicle will determine if a newly developed FFH system is easier to maintain, safer to operate, and more cost effective to operate and own legacy FFH’s in production and use.
