Project Announcement: Improving Reliability and Safety of Vehicle Climate Control Systems – Phase II

The US Army is partnering with industry and academia on a multiphase CTMA initiative to leverage commercial modeling and simulation technologies and design processes to improve the reliability and safety of vehicle fuel-fired heating systems.  A pilot demonstration for a U.S. Army combat vehicle will determine if the new system is easier to maintain, safer to operate, and more cost effective than current vehicle fuel-fired heaters. Phase II will continue engineering design and develop and work towards final prototype and conduct a design validation, in preparation for final vehicle fit ups, and trials.
