Project Announcement: Functional Surface Coatings

This project will improve coating systems for UGV’s and small tactical robotic systems. These are sensitive to weight due to the accumulation of mud. Optics fouled by weather or sabotage degrade mission performance. Coatings will be developed to slough off water, muddy water, and mud for the body and non-optics components. Coatings will be developed for anti-smudge and fingerprint rejection for optics. This development includes a baseline of coatings systems, identification or development of new coatings technologies, and side-by-side performance tests of the baseline and new technologies.

Those interested in participating in this project should contact Lisa Stobierski by November 15, 2017.  We encourage participation of Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs), including Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) and Women’s Business Enterprises (WBEs).
