Project Announcement: Electronic Component Risk Mitigation for Vehicle Programs

The U.S. Army is partnering with industry and academia on a multi-phased project around the Bradley Family of Vehicles (BFoV).  This phase will identify an obsolescence and supply chain risk mitigated common Bradley Processing Unit (BPU) design that extends across the BFoV, and improvements that will lead to a fleet-wide, enterprise level reduction in risk and maintenance and sustainment costs.  The effort is applicable across any vehicle platform requiring complex processing of sensors and video.  Additionally, validation of the manufacturing processes is a critical aspect of this phase of the project, which will reduce excessive lead times, improve efficiencies and production costs, maintenance activities and spares replacement.
