Project Announcement: Coating Layer Consolidation

A major goal of this project is to enable the development of a feasible solution to corrosion issues such as: pitting, dezincification, galvanic corrosion, crevice or under-deposit corrosion, intergranular corrosion, stress corrosion cracking and microbiologically influenced corrosion, affecting buildings, bridges, and vehicles.

The intent of this project is to develop a solution for the optimization of corrosion resistance.  There are two major aspects to the proposed solution:

  • Enhanced corrosion protection.
  • Minimizing complexity and time spent applying coatings and/or waiting for them to cure enough to add subsequent layers.

Those interested in participating in this project should contact Lisa Stobierski, lisas@ncms.org, by August 14, 2017.  We encourage participation of Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs), including Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) and Women’s Business Enterprises (WBEs).
