Project Announcement: Coating Layer Consolidation

A major goal of this project is to enable the development of a feasible solution to corrosion issues such as: pitting, dezincification, galvanic corrosion, crevice or under-deposit corrosion, intergranular corrosion, stress corrosion cracking and microbiologically influenced corrosion, affecting buildings, bridges, and vehicles.

The intent of this project is to develop a solution for the optimization of corrosion resistance.  There are two major aspects to the proposed solution:

  • Enhanced corrosion protection.
  • Minimizing complexity and time spent applying coatings and/or waiting for them to cure enough to add subsequent layers.
