Army Materiel Command (AMC) seeks support in adopting decision-support tools to improve its operations and predictive readiness and to maximize the value of its data. The Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of the Army (DA) have invested significantly in IT systems that monitor and capture data about their maintenance and sustainment operations; AMC is interested in leveraging that data to design a supply-chain strategy aligned to DA’s needs.
To that end, AMC seeks to adopt industry best practices in strategy, performance management, supply chain management, and organizational governance, with the ultimate goal of transitioning to an outcome-focused performance management approach. This phase of the project will take a deeper dive into the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Supply, Storage, and Distribution Operations (SS&D) for further evaluation in the form of a Business Case Analysis (BCA). A comparison of the risks and benefits associated with various alternatives along with a recommendation. To do this, AMC seeks to align its operations, data, and existing systems with its strategic goals, to better assess progress and identify drivers of good performance.
