Project Announcement: Alternatives for More Effective Degreasing and Parts Reclamation

The U.S. Army is partnering with industry and academia to advance the state of new technologies and processes using vapor ultrasonic degreasers to determine if they provide a greater throughput and efficiency in cleaning parts; a safer method in protecting the health and welfare of employees; and a lessened impact on the environment. This initiative seeks to pilot a new approach for Army depots and arsenals to effectively degrease and reclaim parts.

The intent is to find the best technology and processes to significantly save costs, increase the availability of parts, increase operational readiness, and generate lessons learned for potential implementation of these processes and tools across the Army and other Services.
