Project Announcement: Thermoplastic Forming of Lightweight Vehicle Structures – Phase II

The U.S. Army is partnering with industry and academia on a multi-phased initiative to demonstrate the numerous benefits of lightweight thermoplastic composite materials to both the manufacturing, performance, and maintainability of ground vehicles. In Phase II, a next-generation vehicle floor design will be tested under a simulated blast event, thus increasing the technology readiness level (TRL) from a TRL 4 to TRL 6.
