Commercial fleet managers face a daily challenge of maintaining their fleet readiness as well as reducing the cost of operations, providing services to customers at the lowest cost and highest quality, providing additional jobs, and supporting the well-being of the American public. To achieve this, commercial telematics have been employed across many fleets via different vendors.
The intent of this project is to explore the use of multiple vendors’ telematics offerings for their respective military construction equipment platforms. U.S Army Program Executive Office Combat Support & Combat Service Support (PEO CS&CSS), has identified opportunities to establish a real-time Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) study utilizing telematics to aid in improving logistics capabilities with respect to maintenance and sustainment and decrease total life-cycle costs through industry-leading innovations. The U.S. Army has an opportunity to leverage OEM’s knowledge and experience in telematics while assuming minimal risk in cost, schedule, and performance. The data generated from this telematics study will be shared only with the government and the respective vendors.
