Project Announcement: Stricken Aircraft Reclamation and Disposal Program

The U.S. Navy and Marine Corps are seeking support to facilitate the infusion of spare aircraft parts into the repair pipeline by harvesting each aircraft prior to its demilitarization and disposal. The reutilization of these parts reduces costs to the taxpayer and shortens the supply chain response time thereby improving readiness. The Navy is fully leveraged in its utilization of the current commercial and government outlets, but as new aircraft enter service, flight line and maintenance space are at a premium. An abundance of aircraft sitting idle awaiting disposition has a detrimental impact on sustainment and mission readiness. This project will address both of these critical issues.

Those interested in participating should contact Debbie Lilu by October 15, 2018. We encourage participation of Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs), including Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) and Women’s Business Enterprises (WBEs).
