Project Announcement: Optimization of Aerospace Complex Assemblies – Phase II

The U.S. Army is partnering with industry and academia on a multi-phased initiative to demonstrate innovative avionic maintenance and sustainment solutions utilizing the latest technology to help improve capability, safety, readiness and efficiency. This will be accomplished through engineering analysis, optimization, and evaluation support to the U.S. Army’s CH-47 helicopter fleet (which will be applied to other platforms as necessary) through the identification and design of a universal fuselage antenna system (TESS B-Kit) with multi-platform mounting capabilities.

Phase II will expand the successful lessons learned in Phase I by demonstrating that the maintenance and sustainment processes involved with installing/removing new simulation technologies frequently can be done safely, affordably, and without detriment to a legacy airframe.
