Project Announcement: Mobile pRFID Phase II

The U.S. Navy is partnering with industry and academia for the second phase of the mobile pRFID initiative, which is established to purchase the software licenses needed for the vehicle-mounted tablets that capture and upload the data to the CribMaster server. This initiative’s overall purpose is to install a passive RFID system on warehouse/shop vehicles at four Naval shipyards, combining the geo-positioning advantages of fixed point readers and the mobility advantages of vehicle-mounted systems. The goal is to reduce the time and labor needed to identify, count, and locate assets in large facilities or in an outdoor space.
