Project Announcement: Augmented Reality for Streamlined Equipment Maintenance

The U.S. Marine Corps is partnering with industry and academia to assess the benefits of utilizing the T-Glass augmented reality lightweight wearable computer systems with transparent display for hands-free work. The following objectives of this project are to:

  • streamline inspection and maintenance processes
  • gather and analyze equipment data pulled from an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, specifically, the Marine Corps Global Combat Support System (MC-GCSS), to improve the efficiency of maintenance-related operations
  • demonstrate the T-Glass as a proof-of-concept for wearable, hand-free technology for inspection and maintenance activities.
