Cyber Workforce Artificial Intelligence (AI) Assessment

NCMS Project #: 141040

Problem: While existing cyber personnel do possess basic, and in some cases advanced skills, they are often assigned to positions that do not leverage their aptitude or abilities to the fullest.  This is especially true because most cyber positions are reactive and focus on recovering from cyber-attacks, while there are gaps in expanding proactive cyber security across the various engineering disciplines.

Benefit: The project creates a unique solution that focuses on identifying “latent” disparate abilities rather than existing talent by assessing behavioral attributes and cognitive aptitude for cyber security skills; recommending appropriate cyber security training to increase the quality of each employee in several critical areas; creating relevant cyber security jobs; and increasing public safety and dependability due to improved national cyber security infrastructure and threat readiness posture.

Solution/Approach: The project will develop a single comprehensive cloud-based training tool using artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms for testing the knowledge, skills, and aptitude of current and potential cyber security professionals in order to focus resources on those personnel in the most cost-effective manner It will provide a solution to standardize, catalogue and effectively identify, test, and allocate cyber security skills and personnel for industry organizations.
