Anglicotech Assists the DoD with Technology to Improve Readiness

Anglicotech, LLC continues to thrive as a partner to NCMS and the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC). Their efforts have had a tremendous impact on USMC operations and readiness and will continue to benefit the DoD into the future. Anglicotech is a Veteran-Owned Small Business specializing in supply chain management, partnering with industry leaders to build innovative products and deliver comprehensive information technology services. For the last few years, Anglicotech has been involved in several CTMA projects that could change the way the USMC conducts its maintenance and sustainment activities.

Here are updates on just a few.

Focusing on Condition Based Maintenance Plus

Anglicotech recently wrapped up its Global Logistics Integration System (GLIS) initiative, which was a demonstration focusing on the Global Combat Support System-Marine Corps (GCSS-MC) enterprise resource planning (ERP) tool. This demonstration yielded multiple benefits for both the DoD and private industry. Most notably, this initiative resulted in:

  • More effective and timelier preventative and corrective maintenance execution
  • Reduction in rebuild repair cycle time
  • An overall reduction in costs due to more efficient supply chain management
  • Aggregate increases in material readiness manifested in equipment availability
  • Efficient allocation

The enhancements from this initiative will also allow industry to leverage visibility into commercial supply chains as well as support public and private development of their logistics capability. Additionally, lessons learned from the GCSS-MC training will increase the success of complicated software implementations for industry, especially for multi-echelon, multi-party Supply Chain Management deployments.

Providing Real-Time Big Picture

Building upon Anglicotech’s success in the GLIS initiative, NCMS launched the Readiness Sustainment and Maintenance Technology Integration project in September of 2018 to optimize GCSS-MC’s interfaces. Integrating a Data Analytics platform with this ERP will demonstrate the necessity of having proper dashboards and reporting tools in order to achieve the desired benefits of:

  • Streamlined processes
  • Efficiency
  • Productivity
  • Cost savings
  • Forecasting
  • Collaboration
  • Scalability
  • Flexibility
  • Integrated information
  • Reporting
  • Regulatory compliance
  • Security

Anglicotech’s approach in this project is to optimize maintenance/supply system use and enhance maintenance management/material readiness system reporting/data analytics, readiness metrics, and logistics command and control. Additionally, this project will demonstrate the benefits to the USMC units by providing force deployment planning & execution and sustainment support to Marine Expeditionary Forces (MEFs) Logistics System Coordination Offices (LSCOs) to create current strategies and into the future.

NCMS is very excited about the potential outcomes of this project. The benefits derived from it can be applied not only throughout the DoD but also to any company utilizing logistics software such as those in the manufacturing, distribution, and maintenance and sustainment communities.

Ensuring Secure Data

The NCMS-Anglicotech Cybersecurity and Information Assurance initiative has been ongoing for 2.5 years and is now in its third project phase. The objectives of this initiative, which focuses on GCSS-MC, are to ensure Software Assurance (SwA) across the portfolio. This allows industry to demonstrate risk management processes and illustrate components that are embedded in their development environments such as:

  • Level of cyber controls traceability
  • Improvements to software development tools and techniques
  • Strengthened standards for software partitioning and modularity
  • Enhancements to vulnerability discovery
  • Employment of repeatable systems engineering to mitigate software vulnerabilities

Anglicotech continues working with the USMC to assess security controls, develop the Information Security Continuous Monitoring strategy, and analyze artifacts needed to attain Authority to Operate (ATO). At the same time, this project leverages Risk Management Framework principles in support of the overall Logistic IT Portfolio. Within the coming months, Anglicotech will be performing their annual security review and will test the security controls to sustain GCSS-MC R12 Information Assurance compliance.

NCMS, the USMC, and the DoD greatly appreciate all the hard work that Anglicotech puts in each day to support the military’s logistics and cybersecurity efforts, and we look forward to many more years of successful initiatives.
