Advanced Analyzer Labs, Inc. (AMMP)

Overview of the Company:

Based on the license agreement with XOS, a DANAHER subsidiary company, Dr. Huapeng Huang incorporated Advanced Analyzer Labs, Inc. (AAL) in 2015 to develop and commercialize novel X-ray in-situ, inline/online analyzer. The objective of AAL is to become the world leader in X-ray based analyzers to bring material structure analysis to the fields.  The big vision comes from the profound knowledge and extensive experience of our team in X-ray based analyzer research & development.  We believe in the promising future of online and portable XRD applications, especially in the advanced manufacturing and pharmaceutical industry, known as a Process Analytical Technology (PAT) tool. AAL is currently operated on the campus of University of Maryland, College Park, with close collaboration with subject matter experts from the school, NIST, Army Research Laboratory, and NASA.

Overview of the Company:

Joining the National Center for Manufacturing Sciences enables Deloitte to network, collaborate, and build relationships with members that have similar areas of focus, in addition to sharing a wide range of research and eminence to improve maintenance and sustainment through analytics, digital technologies, and the future of work, among others. This membership will help enable us to better get a pulse of innovation and technical needs within the Department of Defense.

 

Desktop Metal, Inc. (AMMP)

Overview of the Company:

Desktop Metal, Inc., is an equipment producer with a strong technical background in Additive Manufacturing (AM) process, material, and equipment (which is needed to sell equipment).  We have three metal AM platforms and one binder jet platform:

  • Studio System:  Based on our Bound Metal Deposition (BMD) Technology (based on material extrusion) and used for rapid prototyping as well as low volume serial productions.
  • Shop System: Based on Binder Jet Technology.  It is meant for medium volume production range typically for machine shop type of volumes.
  • Production System: Based on Binder Jet Technology but for very high-volume production (typically for automotive type applications).
  • Binder jet Platform:  Fiber: DM has also introduced a new platform that does print polymer matrix composites including continuous carbon fiber-based printing.  This printer can print the high temperature polymer materials like PEEK.

North Dakota State University is a land grant institution with 135 graduate degree programs of study across eight colleges.
