F/A-18 E/F Rhino Recovery Plan Integrated Business Planning (IBP) Initiative

Problem: As the supply support integrator for the Naval Aviation Enterprise (NAE), NAVSUP WSS seeks to create an analytics capability to help balance supply and demand plans, prioritize efforts to address critical material shortages, and assist apportion of scarce resources to meet maintenance needs while controlling Navy Working Capital Fund (NWCF) obligations, expenditures, and flying hour program (FHP) costs.

Benefit: The intent of this concept demonstration is to use the F/A-18 E/F sustainment system as a surrogate for industry to demonstrate how integrated commercial and government supply chains and worldwide sustainment networks can benefit the general public.

Solution/Approach: The results of this IBP evaluation, as it pertains to NAE, the Rhino Readiness Recovery, and the Strike Fighter shortfall, may assist any commercial endeavor with a large and complex fleet with anticipating repair needs and elongated the lifespan of their high value assets.
