NCMS Becomes Affiliate to U.S. Department of Energy’s Joint Center for Energy Storage Research

ANN ARBOR, Mich., August 20, 2014 – The National Center for Manufacturing Sciences (NCMS) a not-for-profit 501(c)3 corporation established in 1986 to bring innovations out of the exploratory phase and into commercial implementation has become an affiliate to the U.S. Department of Energy’s Joint Center for Energy Storage Research (JCESR).

Led by Argonne National Laboratory, JCESR directs a major research initiative selecting national leaders in science and engineering from government, academia and industry to create breakthrough energy storage technology and overcome critical scientific and technical barriers. Collaboration with affiliates like NCMS will enable JCESR to meet its aggressive goals.

NCMS President and CEO, Rick Jarman stated “Given our many collaboration projects around energy storage and breadth of members aligned with JCESR’s mission, we look forward to working with JCESR to help speed commercialization of these technologies.”
