Michigan Manufacturers Association Forum Recap

NCMS extends its thanks to all the Michigan manufacturers and business leaders who participated in the Michigan Manufacturers Association’s 2018 MFG Forum. The theme of this year’s forum was the fourth industrial revolution or Industry 4.0; the event focused on the impact that automation, digitalization, the Internet of Things, and modern energy storage technologies will have on the Michigan economy and how Michigan companies can adapt to and leverage emerging technologies to attain growth.

NCMS Senior Vice President Rebecca Taylor delivered opening remarks after those of MMA President Chuck Hadden and moderated a cybersecurity panel featuring William Adams of Merit Network, an NCMS member; Ron Kraus of the Michigan State Police; and Andrew Sczygielski of the FBI. Other presentations included a talk on the convergence between operations and IT by La-Z-Boy’s David Behen; a panel on Industry 4.0’s effect on companies of all sizes, moderated by PwC’s Karim Bibawi; and a talk on the coming disruption brought by electrical cars, given by consultant Paul Eichenberg.
