DETAILS

The Innovation Expo is part of the Carrier Team One (CT1) Annual Community Event. CT1’s mission is to improve the performance and availability of Navy aircraft carriers. CT1 accomplishes this through process improvement as well as leveraging digital capabilities and technology.

Here’s why you won’t want to miss it:

  • Exhibitors participating in the Innovation Expo will have the opportunity to showcase a wide variety of next-generation technologies that could contribute to the mission of the Navy’s aircraft carrier maintenance community.
  • This will be a great opportunity for end users to get hands-on experience with your technology. To provide the most impact, actual demonstrations of capabilities when applicable are highly encouraged.
  • Along with gaining high visibility for your technology, you’ll learn about opportunities for collaboration and knowledge sharing among the leading technology experts who serve the Navy’s aircraft carrier maintenance community. High-ranking authorities and experts in the field, including US Navy Admirals and NAVSEA innovation team specialists, will be in attendance to engage with company representatives and view demonstrations. Based on the demonstration, they will assess the usefulness of the technology or process and how the implementation would add value and align with the Navy’s overall mission.

Following the CT1 Innovation Expo, exhibitors will participate in the Technology Exchange and Adoption event.  This opportunity will include exhibitions and participation in workshops at the NCMS Norfolk office Assembly Building from May 17-18. This event will involve staff from NAVSEA Warfare Center Sustainment and Repair, among others.

How to get the most out of your participation at an NCMS Technology Showcase

Each exhibitor’s space will be visited by individuals representing Government, Industry, and Academia. Please have a prepared “elevator” description of your technology and how it will benefit maintenance and sustainment efforts. This prepared speech should engage your audience quickly. Be prepared to demonstrate your technology or offer a short presentation on how your technology works. Be sure that you have deliverables that speak to the benefits of your technology, and if possible, create handouts or other marketing collateral.

Actionable Items

  • Make sure your team has an elevator speech. Be prepared to describe your technology solution/service and its benefits in 30 seconds or less.
  • Demo, demo, demo! Demonstrations draw attention at the event.
  • Bring plenty of collateral!
  • Keep your exhibit space staffed. Traffic is unpredictable and intermittent, so plan to have a representative at your table during all show hours.
  • Refrain from packing up or leaving before the event ends. An empty tabletop reflects poorly upon your company/organization.
  • Online Directory: As a part of exhibitor registration, you are required to submit company and technical abstracts. To make a lasting impact, be sure to complete this package by submitting your logo and quad chart to eventsupport@ncms.org.

Best Practices for Submission of Exhibitor Materials

NCMS will provide attendees with a printed Exhibitor Directory that delivers a striking showcase for our exhibitors’ technology solutions. In addition, an online directory will be made available. Note that our government partners have requested that Quad Charts be submitted by all exhibitors. Those Charts will be the main place to profile your technology solutions.

To make the best possible use of the print and online space for the directory, we ask that participating exhibitors follow these instructions:

  1. Submit a 150-word description of your technology solution.
  2. Submit a 100-word description of your organization.
  3. Download the Quad Chart Template provided here, and save it as a PowerPoint file once complete. Each quadrant must be completed using Arial 12pt font face.
    1. For Problem Statement, describe what problem the technology is meant to solve (80 words maximum)
    2. For Solution Statement, describe the technology product or service (80 words maximum)
    3. For Benefits Statement, describe the expected impact of the technology (80 words maximum)
    4. For Graphics, insert photos or charts as needed. Please also submit the graphics in a high-resolution format (300 dpi) in a separate email.

Note: attempts to make the type smaller than 12 points so more than 80 words can fit in each quadrant may result in the submission being sent back. All quad charts should be emailed to eventsupport@ncms.org by 5/1/23.
