Guardian S Remote Visual Inspection & Surveillance Robot

The Sarcos Guardian S robot is a first-of-its-kind surveillance and inspection robot that is uniquely capable, cost-effective, and portable. With the base unit weighing in at ~17 pounds, the Guardian S robot is a man-portable mobile sensor/IoT platform that can be teleoperated from miles away, reliably traverse challenging terrain including stairs, culverts, pipes, tanks, and ferromagnetic vertical surfaces, and facilitate two-way real-time video, voice and data communication. As a remote inspection and monitoring tool, the Guardian S robot can be successfully deployed in industries including defense, public safety, security, non-destructive testing, disaster recovery, infrastructure inspection and maintenance, aerospace, maritime, oil and gas, petrochemical, and mining.

Its multi-purpose, human portable mobile IoT platform features a built-in sensor module that gathers real-time information; the ability to transport 10-pound sensor payload while traversing a horizontal surface; and the flexibility to add task-specific sensors via sensor mounts. Its two-way, real-time video, voice, and data communication has built-in, enhanced WiFi and radio connection between the OCU and robot; built-in LTE (at 700 MHz operation) for future cloud-based services; two-way audio between OCU and robot (half duplex PTT); and audio signals and video streams encrypted using state-of-the-art 256-bit AES encryption.
