Accelerated Knowledge Transfer (AKT) applications provide the most innovative readiness and training solutions, with immediate capture and transfer of key procedural information to warfighters. This enables rapid understanding and optimum human performance. Now utilizing mixed reality, AKT applications blend augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) to ensure instant accessibility, enhance interaction and boost overall user experience, interest and retention. Hand held devices and/or goggles instantly recognize subjects and access CAD models, with touch links to audiovisual explanations and “how to” instructions of difficult or highly technical processes that also include associated “step-by step” text and reference info. When and where available, artificial intelligence (AI) will guide AKT applications and information collection. AKT applications are hardware agnostic, expediting classroom/office learning and providing instant/pocket reference information while deployed. Authoring and creation of AKT software takes less than one third of the time required to write text based instructions and enables same day updates for immediate configuration management. AKT applications can also be linked to and retrieve information directly from product lifecycle management (PLM) systems, further easing and ensuring continuous updates.
Accelerated Knowledge Transfer for Maintainers
AKTOptimize applications include familiar job performance aids (JPAs) and learning performance aids (LPAs), to rapidly capture and share critical, sensitive, and highly complex / infrequently performed mechanical and procedural processes. Through digital storytelling, these tools enable the “best of the best” subject matter experts (SMEs) to share their best practices and techniques in ways that everyone can understand and repeat. Processes are demonstrated in attention-grabbing ways utilizing a focused mix of pictures, videos, animation and text. Our approach involves all four learning preferences of reading, hearing, seeing and doing. Examples include: calibrating thermal optic systems; performing emergency quadrax connector repairs; operating missile systems; and performing lifesaving orthopedic surgery in the field (under battle conditions). These learning tools boost the interest of digital natives and fast learners while bringing along lagging or first-time users without frustration. The tools are rapid and inexpensive to develop: DoD JPAs are produced in 3-4 weeks (on average), with Red Flag deliveries in less than 48 hours and same day updates as required.
