Project Announcement: Adapting Blockchain Technology for Additive Manufacturing

A major goal of this project is to enable the public to reduce the barriers with digital information and to connect people and data with tools to support Additive Manufacturing (AM) innovation to design new products and to compete with larger counterparts. This in turn, will increase competition and reduce the cost of goods for the general public. Without the most relevant product development data and efficient processes, consumers are spending more for warehousing, transportation, and general services.

The objective of this project is to test and evaluate Blockchain, 3D print an AM part, authenticate and have traceability of the part in a cyber secure environment with DoD.

Those interested in participating in this project should contact Dana Ellis by July 31, 2017. We encourage participation of Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs), including Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) and Women’s Business Enterprises (WBEs).
