Robotics in Michigan- Recharging Our Future!

Please Register by March 30th to attend this event being held in support of National Robotics Week and includes speakers, discussion panels, and demonstrations of robotics technology from industry and academia.

This is a great networking opportunity for companies to meet potential collaborators and recruit talent from local universities. Michigan Robotics Day is geared towards promoting robotics technology awareness and excitement as well as providing an opportunity for STEM related activities and outreach.

Keynote- Dr. Lawrence Burns

"Reinventing the Automobile" The transformational mobility systems and services made possible by self-driving/driverless cars and the "Mobility Internet."

Dr. Lawrence Burns completed a distinguished career with General Motors, serving as corporate vice president of Research & Development. In addition to driving innovation into today's vehicles, Burns led GM's development of a new automotive “DNA” that marries electrically driven and “connected vehicle” technologies.

He has been a major voice for the “reinvention” of the automobile and the diversification of transportation energy. Within GM, he personally championed vehicle electrification, “connected” vehicles, fuel cells, bio-fuels, advanced batteries, autonomous driving, and a series of innovative concept vehicles. He was elected a Member of the National Academy of Engineering in 2011.

Today he teaches Engineering Practice, Industrial and Operations Engineering, at the University of Michigan and an advises numerous organizations including Google, Hess Corporation and VantagePoint Capital Partners. He serves as a Director of the Roundtable on Sustainable Mobility at The Earth Institute, Columbia University.
