October 6, 2014 – Washington, DC- The National Center for Manufacturing Sciences (NCMS) has joined the National Alliance for Jobs and Innovation (NAJI), a partnership of concerned businesses and industry experts working together to stop unfair competition from the use of stolen intellectual property (IP), whether it be through piracy, counterfeiting, or trade secret theft.

“Manufacturing tools and processes are increasingly more complex with the exponential growth of Internet connections to the factory floor and with the supply chain”, said Rick Jarman, President and CEO of the NCMS. “As manufacturing leaders manage risk, the vulnerability of corporate data from cyber incursions and IP theft are a growing factor. NCMS is known by hundreds of manufactures a year as trusted collaborator and we welcome NAJI as a partner in the Digital Manufacturing Revolution”.

NAJI was created in 2012 to bring awareness to the harm caused by IP theft and unfair competition. The coalition represents over 400 small and medium-size enterprises (SMEs) around the United States for which intellectual property is essential to success.  To find out more, please visit www.naji.org.
