Michigan Governor Rick Snyder saluted Michigan Robotics Day, which “…highlights to the rest of Michigan and the entire country how important robotics are,” and by its third year has grown to one of the premier events celebrating National Robotics Week. He also answered questions on a wide range of subjects during a Q&A session moderated by NCMS President & CEO Rick Jarman.

February 11, 2013. California, Florida and Nevada have already passed similar measures to support local innovators. This effort is a bid to publicize innovative Michigan-based companies who require more than their limited road testing. Manufactures have been discretely testing autonomous vehicles on Michigan roads for years, and this new legislation would establish guidelines and open the market for small and medium sized companies to begin creating new autonomous vehicle technology.
January 17, 2013. Last night Michigan‚Äôs Governor, Rick Snyder announced his support for autonomous vehicle licensing in the state. NCMS has been working with the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) to help the Midwest seize the lead in the development and deployment of robotic and autonomous vehicle technology.
