The Marine Corps Base Quantico will be co-hosting a combined workshop with the Commercial Technologies for Maintenance Activities (CTMA) and the Joint Technologies Exchange Group (JTEG). The theme for this workshop is “Land Systems Sustainment Technology”. This workshop is intended to bring together DoD’s maintenance/logistics/technologist communities and technology providers within industry. Briefs will include technology needs to improve the performance of Marine Corps maintenance and repair processes. The workshop will be held at The Clubs at Quantico on the Marine Corps Base Quantico, VA on 26-27 February 2008.
The workshop keynote speaker will be Col.William E. Taylor, Program Executive Officer Land Systems, United States Marine Corps. The plenary session will also include speakers on USMC NAVAIR Overview, Depot Maintenance & Technology Needs, Marine Corps Logistics Command, Albany GA. and an OSD overview on Sustaining Materiel Readiness.
CTMA is a collaborative effort between the National Center for Manufacturing Sciences (NCMS), its member companies, and the Department of Defense (DoD) to demonstrate, integrate and transition emerging technologies into DoD maintenance facilities through a cost share. The Joint Group on Depot Maintenance (JG-DM) established the JTEG to improve the coordination among DoD depot maintenance activities for the support of new and emerging technologies, and continuous process improvement (CPI) initiatives used to improve the capability and efficiency of the depot maintenance community.
