2012 Michigan Robotics Day Media Coverage and Photos

NCMS recently cosponsored Michigan Robotics Day with the University of Michigan at the North Campus Research Complex. The event has been receiving rave reviews in the press.

Over 400 people took part in a program which highlighted the Michigan Robotics industry. Some of the companies attending included FANUC Robotics, SAIC, Ford Motor Company, Pratt & Miller, Boeing, Soar Technology, Southwest Research Institute, and A123.

 

NCMS was also touted by U.S. Senator Carl Levin, “This state, this town, this National Center for Manufacturing Sciences (located here) has been recognized by the U.S. Department of Defense as a leader in terms of robotics,” noting the robots represent economic potential.

“Robotics represents a major global economic opportunity in Michigan,” said Rick Jarman, president and CEO of the National Center for Manufacturing Sciences, which sponsored the conference.

“Robots are becoming must-have tools — must-have tools on the battlefield, on the factory floor, in the operating room, on the farm, and hopefully soon on a highway near you,” Jarman said.
